Review on πŸ‡ Wysong Epigen Canned Formula for Rabbits Canines, Felines, Dogs, Cats, and Ferrets - Optimal Pet Nutrition by Vania Puckett

Very good but not complete food

Application - 2 rescued cats (both Russian Blue mixes, approx 6 months old). I had them for 2 weeks and this food made up maybe 70% of their meals. The challenge is to transition them from shelter chow to a more biologically appropriate (i.e., carnivorous) diet. The action is to read the backstory on the Wysong website and several cat nutrition websites. I liked the general approach of using real cat food (e.g. rabbit) processed at low temperatures (cats don't cook their own food). The result - they eat everything to the last bite. Interestingly, they didn't overeat or overeat. Instead, they returned several times. Note - this is not a complete diet. According to Wysong, it's made from rabbit "trimmings" β€” parts that would otherwise be discarded from rabbit meat slaughtered for human consumption. That's the only reason I missed a start - it's impossible to tell exactly what's missing in nutritional value. The best way to describe the color and texture is browned ground beef. This is not the pie you get in a typical jar. Let's just say they seem to recycle it well after the meal - the tray doesn't get dirty. Overall I would say that this can be part of a complete and nutritious diet. However, some supplementation needs to be done to ensure they are getting the required nutrients.

Pros
