Strange but it works. You get what you pay for UPDATED: Fancy device

UPDATED after 1 year of ownership. See updates below. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a wireless car mount, but I bought what I had before very cheaply and I was disappointed. So I decided to spend a little more and get this. Pros: 1) It will definitely charge fast if you plug in a fast charger 2) It will detect when your phone is near the mount and will automatically open and close for you 3) Keep the phone in your hand snugly 4) The mounting arm is excellent. Although it has a suction part, the bottom is very sticky. I feel like I could skip the suction and just use its stickiness to stay in place. It hasn't moved for a month since installation. Tip: CLEAN the surface you want to attach it to. I used a disinfectant wipe. 5) Cheap for what you get. 6) Easy to take out the phone. Disadvantages: 1) When the device has no power, it is difficult to pull out the phone, it is not easy to release it. You may have to pull hard to get it out. So make sure you always turn it on to get your phone out. 2) Sometimes he just accidentally opens his arms even when nothing or no one is touching him. Opens and closes just to say hello I think. So, tilt your phone backwards so it doesn't fall out while driving, causing panic and chaos. 3) It may or may not easily overheat and stop charging. It could be my phone but the phone didn't show this. Resetting didn't help, but cooling the car down did. 4) When your phone is 100% charged it will turn off charging which is good but the indicators won't tell you about it. 5) The unlock sensor (not a button) is VERY sensitive. You can just tap the wrong spot on your phone and it will open. So it takes a few times to stop touching that part of the phone while it's docked. Pros and cons: You can use it as you like, it only comes with a USB cable without a charger. I think you can pair it with whatever you want or have. So they don't charge you extra money with a bunch of different loading options. Again, you may want this if you don't have anything to use yet. So it's up to you to decide whether it's a plus or a minus. I plugged mine into my truck's USB port, which doesn't charge fast, but it worked. Connected to a pair of standard cigarette lighter chargers and charged. I then plugged it into a fast-charging cigarette lighter charger and it certainly charges my Samsung S9 with case quickly. Haven't tried the air conditioner vent mount, I don't really trust them and I live in Texas and when it's hot I want the air conditioner on me and not my phone. UPDATED: So, 1 year later, here is what I experienced. After about 7 months the automatic clamp broke. They no longer move up or down. You can hear the engine running, but nothing happens. The arms can be manually extended and retracted, but they are not held securely. I just tilted the phone backwards to keep it from falling and everything worked fine for a while. Disappointing. Before it broke, he opened and closed his hands more and more haphazardly, without even touching anything. Sometimes I drop my phone on the ground while driving. This charger overheats very quickly. Even on an 80F day I would have to point the vent right at it to keep it charging. I've never had anything like this. The suction cup holding everything to my dash was the strongest part of this thing. It never moved, until yesterday everything just fell apart. Overall I am very dissatisfied with it and regret the purchase. I'll just have to live with it and pay more for a quality wireless charging mount that isn't badly made.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Legacy model
