My cat would lie on our dining table during the day to look out the window so we decided to buy her hoping she would lie instead . It was pretty easy to put together except for the wire in the suction cups on top (see photo). It took some elbow grease to push through the plastic to secure them. It was pretty solid considering the quality of the materials. It's not the prettiest element of a dining room window, so we decided to try a different style of window rod that's less visible, without dangling wires or suction cups. If you don't care about looks and don't plan on closing your blinds/curtains/curtains, this is a good buy!
