I used it both before and after washing, preheating and rubbing it in the palms of my hands before applying to the entire length of the hair. Although the manufacturer does not guarantee it, it does not have a therapeutic effect. However, the cosmetic effect is excellent. It suited me very well for the summer, it does not stain my hair (if used within appropriate limits), it is not felt on my hair, in winter it is not enough for me. I only need to apply to my hair with one click, which is quite affordable. I've only used half of the bottle in the past two years of use.
