Has a permanent place on the kitchen worktop. I don't use it every day, but when I need it I like to have it right where I can use it right away. Yesterday I used it to dry celery leaves that I used to throw away a lot. I put the dehydrated leaves in a blender to pulverize them, then added them to my current veggie broth powder mix, which I conveniently keep in my herb and spice cabinet. I use it to flavor foods like rice, fried potatoes, soups, sauces, etc. It changes all the time depending on what I'm dehydrating and chopping like carrots, peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, spinach, etc. Another fantastic use for this device is making crispy homemade crackers. Having had trouble baking a batch, my crackers don't have the crispiness level I prefer since we have an old oven that came with the house. It does not have a convection fan that modern ovens are equipped with. This is the next best thing! Simply pop your crackers, toasts or fries in a dehydrator to remove any remaining moisture and voila! Tasty and crunchy. Haven't used it to rise bread dough yet, but I've heard it's good for that too. Dehydrated mushroom powder tastes fantastic as a finishing touch to alfredo sauce. own garlic and onion powder. The house stinks, but it's worth it! I dehydrate potato tortillas to preserve them for camping breakfast potato pancakes. Frozen mixed vegetable bags are also good to have on hand. You don't have to worry about the freezer burning out before you use them up. I especially love dehydrated corn. The only drawback I see is that I have to vacuum the floor from time to time because food dust gets between the cracks. It is, and is not, the ideal area for jerking off from what I've read. I really want it to be like this.
