I read the reviews before buying and there are people using it as a bed sheet if it is a mattress pad. It fits under the mattress topper and should protect you from future accidents like flat tires. To be honest, I fold the sheets in half: a mattress pad, a sheet, another mattress pad, and another sheet. So if there is a mess in the middle of the night, all I have to do is peel off a few layers and the cradle doesn't need to be redone. This is my mother's hack. I'm glad I found these in a pack of two because 11 years ago I had to order mattress pads separately.
