Despite the hundreds of positive reviews I've read about these devices from different brands, I was still skeptical. I only bought this particular brand because they had the fastest shipping and I was desperate with my dog. I have a Chihuahua Jack Russell mix who freaks out at the sight of strangers or other dogs. He is not aggressive, just agitated most of the time, but his behavior makes other people (and some dogs) nervous, as well as being annoying. We recently moved from a house to an apartment where there are a lot of other dogs and people, so his barking became a real problem and I was already getting desperate. My dog is 6 years old (I had a 3 year old) so this barking has been his lifelong problem. And after ONE DAY of using it, he became a completely different dog. Yesterday I had to squeeze him several times to make him realize that this would happen every time, but by the end of the day he had gone from barking uncontrollably and pulling on the leash to walking calmly. past another dog without barking. I also like that I was able to make it clear to him that his behavior is not normal and did not hurt him in any way. So yes, if in doubt, just try it.
