Review on Movo Photo SV1000 Aluminum Combination Shoulder Rig/Selfie Stick/Handheld Stabilizer/Video Grip - Ultimate Camera Support for up to 9 lbs/4kg by Andy Baker

I've found that on many shots where I've used gimbal before I just use this MOVO setup and adjust my technique and get better results! It's a bit like the difference between a power steering (gimbals) and a rack and pinion steering sports car. Of course there are still situations where the ease and minimal effort of power steering is an advantage, but for precise operation you need rack and pinion steering in your sports car. The same applies to using this setup as a replacement for the stabilizer. It really depends on what you're trying to achieve, but if I mean something *very* specific, it's much easier to "steer" the MOVO install *exactly* where I want it to be instead of to "negotiate" with her. the gimbal to do what i need. negotiate. At least for me it is. Also, this MOVO rig is so lightweight, compact, and quick/easy to set up - and NEVER fails - that I can spend more time shooting and less time setting up, meaning I'm less likely to miss an opportunity to rush. I've noticed that in some of the older reviews people have mentioned imperfections (like paint peeling) or made suggestions (like anodizing). Well the device I received has an anodized finish which is very high quality. So my conclusion is: MOVO listens to complaints and suggestions and improves the product. I appreciate MOVO for that, and I appreciate the early adopters who have provided honest feedback that has led to product improvements. There are a few things I think could be improved: 1) I wish the angle adjustment was smaller. Not much less - I don't want to risk the structural integrity, and I love that it's very easy to make extra corners that never end with "just a little". So it's not a deal breaker, but nice to have/if MOVO can handle it at the same level of quality and utility. 2) I need an easy way to connect 2 or more of these rigs. I have an application where this build is about twice the length, with about twice the number of connectors/adaptations AND having a mounting plate on both ends would be ideal. Aside from using a pair of 3/8"- 1/4" adapters and/or drilling an additional set of holes at the end of the handle (where the MOVO logo is), I don't see any good options. So MOVO did the drilling for me and added an extra handle to each unit so I could easily connect multiple rigs as needed. Maybe even make a Y or X rig 3) It would be nice to be able to rotate the mounting plate 90 degrees (or reattach it 90 degrees) so the camera stays vertical but the rig is "sideways". .4) I agree with others about the mounting screw. A thumb screw would have been much better. The only downside I can see is that if MOVO continues to improve the product, Revain will need to expand their rating system to go beyond 5 stars. :)
