I have a foster Golden Retriever who has a lot of digestive problems. I've spent thousands treating them and trying to find the problem. I've tried all the recommended "healthy" pieces. Nothing helped and she just didn't gain weight. By the age of 3 I was struggling to keep her weight over 50lbs when she was supposed to be 60-65lbs. Eventually I did a little research and started cooking her meals from scratch. The problems went away immediately. I was excited. But preparing big pots of homemade food for her and our other Goldens every 3-4 days got tired quickly. I rarely cook for my family! Also, I've never been sure if my dogs are getting everything they need when they're self-fed. So I started researching and found this meal. That's great! So much easier. I just follow the directions and add protein and oil and I know my dogs are getting everything they need and I don't stick to preparing huge pots of food every few days. We adopted another Golden Retriever puppy a few months ago after our older Golden passed away. left and he was eating one of those "healthy" foods again, so we weaned him off and put him on Miracle dog food. A few months went by and my 3 year old Golden started spitting up a bit, but usually right after lunch when she started playing diligently with the puppy. And the puppy started having loose stools so we took him to the vet. His stool pattern was normal and his blood work was normal. So just yesterday I went to the site and found an email address where I could get advice. I emailed them my address and phone number last night. This morning I got a call on my cell phone from New Jersey. I don't know anyone in New Jersey so I almost ignored it. But I picked up the phone and the man on the other end said it was Dr. Harvey calling about my dogs. It took me a minute to realize that this was an email I sent yesterday. He spent about 10 minutes talking to me on the phone, talking about each of my dogs and giving me advice on what oils to use and what proteins to try. We talked about other dog foods he offers and he even suggested that I put this food in a blender to make it easier to digest. He also advised me to raise the food bowl when feeding my 3 year old dog so he doesn't tilt his head while eating. None of the vets I've spent thousands of dollars on have suggested this, and it's that simple. I think it's safe to say that if I had emailed Blue Buffalo or Taste of the Wild I wouldn't have received the same call I did today. dr Harvey ended the call by asking me to call him in a week to see how things were going and then he told me a silly father joke. Then I asked him to move to Southern California. I have full confidence in dr. Harvey and his food and I know it's the best I can feed my dogs, even better than homemade. And as long as Dr. Harvey is in charge, I will never feed my dogs anything else.
