Great solution for Ender 3

Ender 3 I have about a month. It was a good machine except for the bed leveling. The center of the bed is higher than the corners, so I couldn't get the right "shock" with large prints. The corners would be spot on and the center would be too blurry. I tried preheating the bed, the aluminum foil under the bed, I wanted to take the aluminum bed apart and try to sand it flat. Every time I printed I had to peel off the first layer and then I had to completely level the platform before the next print. The Reddit suggestion said I should try the glass platform, which I did. This thing came back to normal and solved all my problems. After 30 seconds of setting the Z-axis limit switch and 2 more minutes of leveling, I had my first print. After 10 presses I still haven't touched the adjustment knobs. After all my frustrations, it's amazing how much smoother this machine runs. Once the plate has cooled, the parts will separate and you can simply lift it off the bed. First I lost 1 print midway due to adhesion issues. I increased my bed temp by 20 degrees to allow for the thicker slab and that fixed it. I haven't had to print anything over a few inches yet, but I love it!

Pros
  • Very practical: very easy to remove imprints. The surface of our tempered glass bed is a layer of microporous composite coating. It compresses like a cooling hot layer, which pretty much ensures prints can be removed by hand without tools.
