I liked everything about this small and useful device. I have a 2TB nvme installed which I use as my main Steam directory for my games and in doing so I have one hard drive that I can swap between my 3 computers which saves a lot of space, cables and money. Obviously you'll need to use a real USB-C port for this, and you can have decent speeds. Not close to NVME on a motherboard, but more than acceptable. It took me some extra effort to fit the drive into the device, but the reduced size makes the portability amazing.
