My wife bought it because she "loves cats". I also love cats, albeit a little less after installing these shelves. My wife baked me a pumpkin pie as an apology for buying this abomination. When I was young, I spent summers on a construction site; I built whole houses. I'm good with tools. IKEA? I do not mind! But these "shelves" are an ill-conceived insult to any deity you may or may not worship. First, none of the slots on the metal brackets that hold the shelves are tight enough to hold the shelf in friction. That means you need three hands; 1 to hold the bracket, 1 to hold the shelf, and 1 to mark the shelf and wall where the hole needs to be drilled. Even then, the shelf will not be parallel to the floor since the slot holding the shelf is neither perpendicular to the wall nor parallel to the floor. Rinse and repeat three times. Finally, I refer you to the reviewer's submitted photos. Crooked shelves are clearly visible on each of them. Everyone. one. Out of. She. Even in some of the photos provided by the manufacturer, crooked shelves are visible. I would post pictures of our shelves but I'm embarrassed. If you need shelves that won't hold a tennis ball without rolling, then these are your shelves. If you're lucky, you'll get a cake for your trouble.
