Review on Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Sports DG OS HSM Lens for Canon by Andy Thorson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lens Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM (S).

delivered in a box in a box in another box. Well packed for safety. The lens is amazing. The programming seemed a little intimidating but got away with some guesswork as to what might work and after 3 tries it was set up so the images were crisp. I use it on my Nikon D810. It's heavy and takes some getting used to, and I bought a monopod with a swivel head to keep it steady, which works pretty well. I am very happy with this lens. I hated the cloth lens cap and ordered the Sigma 105mm plastic lens cap, which makes a difference in convenience for me. This is a monster lens. You can't beat him for money. You have to buy an $8,000 lens to beat it. Great for serious photographers who don't have that much money. I've included a photo taken at 600mm as there were questions about sharpness. You can see that it's very sharp despite being shot in very low light (f/6 at 1000 ISO).

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
  • thin
