I had a few issues with this strap and I don't think I should have expected much from it as it was so cheap; However, he opted for a non-standard size of 21 mm. The strap broke at the point of the leash a few days after purchase, and speaking of the leash, it was definitely sewn on a variable tension machine. The needle tore the skin in several places, penetrating the material, and the thread was so taut in some places that it almost broke, in other places it was loose. This is claimed, because anyone who has ever felt real calfskin or nubuck leather will raise their eyebrows. Leather is not waterproof at all and will stain and darken when in contact with liquids. as noted, the insert has sharp edges where it contacts the outside of the belt. It needs to be disassembled and sanded so the tape doesn't scratch the metal. If my review hasn't put you off to this point, then do yourself a favor and switch deployers. For all its shortcomings, the strap looked good, and that's all I can say about it.
