Appearance and functionality are excellent. I like the glass carafe. I like being able to set the temperature (within a small range of options). However, a brew basket in the decanter is the only lid option. I'm afraid that after using the brewer, this kettle will just be an expensive version of a cheap hotel coffee maker: no matter what you use it with, the hot water will taste like old coffee. I am very disappointed that there is no second cover. When I looked at the Revain questions I thought there was a different cover. Guilty.
