Excellent bulbs. You can turn on the light before you leave and the bulbs will turn on and off by themselves. The timer is not needed. Now you can leave town and no one will know. I'd love to get them in 9W, which is the same as the old style 60W, but I'm happy with 5W. That corresponds to the old style 40w. Brighter than expected. I will definitely buy more if the need arises. I switched all my outdoor lighting to these bulbs. My lamp requires two bulbs. I was concerned that one bulb would turn on and make it too bright for the other bulb to turn on. That's not the case. I highly recommend these lamps from Dawn to Dusk.
