Review on 🚚 BELLACORP TPMS for Heavy Duty Dually Axle Pickup Hauling a Fifth Wheel, Trailer, Camper, Box Trailer, or Horse Trailer - Includes Ten (10) Sensors for Tire Pressure Monitoring System by Dave Wheeler

Revainrating 2 out of 5

After a year of use: a few frustrating issues and a major design flaw

My final change: Don't buy. This works most of the time, but has one fatal flaw: when the sensor stops working, the reading seems to keep showing the last temperature/pressure. I understand this happened this summer when the sensor failed. It happened again when the tire blew out and the tread (or dirt) knocked out the sensor/valve stem. I saw the pressure drop to 37psi and was looking for a place to stop to check when I realized it was the rim. And still reading 37psi - as it is now, a few days later, even though the sensor is stuck somewhere in the post on I-81. The only reason I bought this was to quickly become aware of a tire problem on my trailer and it failed due to a design flaw. The people I dealt with at the seller are very nice, but the product has some issues (see below) and one big flaw. I will look elsewhere for a different TPMS system. ****** I'm editing my review again to update it. The company sent me a new sensor so I hope this will solve my problem. I think I said earlier that when the system works, which it mostly does, it works fine, and basically warned me about overheating brakes a few months ago. It may not be realistic to expect sensors to perform at 100% every time in this environment. I hope it will continue to work in the future. I agree to unscrewing and reinstalling the sensor to reset it if that's the price I have to pay for the cover. ***************************** ****************** Installed sensors on my full size van and additional sensors on my 30ft trailer (wheels halfway back). Everything worked great once I FINALLY got the right pressure and temperature ranges. I work in IT and am an engineer by birth and have rarely been so frustrated trying to use their user interface to follow instructions. But at the end. Walked 4,000 miles round trip. After a couple of hours one sensor stopped showing. Beep, beep, beep. I stopped, worried, took it off, and screwed it back on. Corrected! Before the end of the journey, 5 out of 6 sensors showed the same behavior. At some point on the first leg I drove into a downpour and 4 out of 6 stopped flashing at the same time. Most corrected themselves within an hour. I had to remove and reinstall one or two. In the end everything worked again. A sensor (on the trailer) stopped showing every few hours. Stopping, uninstalling and reinstalling always brought it back. I've rarely driven more than a few hours without one of them malfunctioning. I've seriously considered bringing it back. The combination of a confusing user interface (DO NOT lose the user manual!) and unstable reliability tested my patience. But when it worked, it seemed to work fine and do what I wanted. I was always able to get the failed sensors working again with a quick stop, and I still stop every few hours. So I reluctantly keep it. Finally, it provided the coverage/monitoring I wanted 95% or more of the time, and it was worth the reassurance. I have lost tires on a van and trailer many times over the years and wanted early warning of any problems. But I don't recommend it. It seems to me that this is a product in its final (beta) testing phase, relying on user feedback to solve the latest issues. I am sure that the next version will be better. Or find another brand that is more reliable now.
