I have a lot of video games and CDs and I'm so old. I got them to help me with my storage needs, mostly for my video game. I have the shelves horizontal but this gives me double storage space with the right spacing to stack between them. Installation is a huge undertaking if you have the usual tools as there is a disconnect where the brackets attach to the shelf so you will have to approach the screws from the side risking at least 1 if no more, is stripped.
