Bought this as a gift for my 4 year old niece. I showed it to my mom and she wasn't ready yet. this is real make-up, but of a childlike quality. I think I will split the gift between my 4 year old niece and my 7 year old daughter. I think it works well for both ages. The bag is so cute and surprisingly holds everything.
