I've only had this device for 24 years and that's not enough to check the functions. This is enough time to comment on the design and the weird choices made by the designers. I was happy years ago when the mini USB connector was no longer used for devices and this device still uses a mini USB connector. The socket for this plug is hidden behind a small cover that is almost impossible to open without damaging the cover. Once opened, good luck getting the Min-USB connection right. In my opinion, based on experience with other TENS machines, without the use of a gel you will be shocked. Water is not a suitable substitute for a more viscous conductive material and is not only a poor choice but also a dangerous choice when using TENS around the nerves surrounding the cervical spine.
