Foolproof good for spares

I got my drive motor today and it was easy after understanding a few things. My only problem was unlocking the engine so I could open the tailgate so I could completely remove the plastic trim to gain access. I checked out the best videos I found on YouTube but found I couldn't get enough pressure under the latch to pull it far enough to release the latch. Between the big hand and the carpal tunnel in both hands, it just wouldn't work for me. The service technician showed in the video how to use a long, wide-handled screwdriver to disengage the tailgate cover latches to give you enough clearance to reach the engine. In the same way I was able to loosen most of the bottom clamps and give myself some more slack to have better access to the motor. I then used the same screwdriver to press on the inside of the latch (as shown in the photos) and it popped open. I also had to use a head on a T27 torx bit to get enough force to snap the bolts holding the motor in place as they were over tightened and all the threads were coated with Locktite. Since the threads of the screws are coated with Locktite, make sure you hand tighten them to avoid over-tightening. The only other issue I had was not checking the quality of my work before reinstalling the tailgate cover. I thought I did a good job putting the connectors back in place and making sure they were snapped and tight. When I returned to park the car, the tailgate ajar light came on and wouldn't go off. After removing the plastic cover for the first time, it only took about a minute to remove it, unplug the ajar door switch, and fasten it. I closed the back door and restarted the car and everything was perfect so I put the cover back on and put the car away. In the attached photos, the first one points to a spot in a YouTube video that the service technician is asking you to pull out. up to release the latch. The other two show where I pressed the screwdriver blade to release it for me. If you either pull the rod or press the latch with a screwdriver, you must also pull the tailgate to release the latch point. All markings on the original motor that I removed and on this replacement motor are identical, and the weight and feel of both are identical as well. what a saving. Local auto parts stores would charge $113 for the same engine, and a replacement from Ford was nearly $280. I found something cheaper on ebay and some other sources, but the providers were questionable, no guarantee and two days delivery time.
