Before then, I rated the disk highly (5 stars); nevertheless, after more than two years of use, I ran into an extremely inconvenient issue. My disk is completely OS X-integrated and simply contains music. Every other week or so, I spend an hour or so adding new music and/or videos to my media library on this device. The disc fails to read for the third time. In other words, it "hangs up" the system, the Finder stops responding, and only a reboot saves data; when connected to Windows, it doesn't hang up, but copying data from the disk causes either the explorer or TLCMD to hang frequently. The latter is a distinct possibility, though it is unknown where the disc may ultimately "hang" the computer. After trying to restore the media library for three hours today, it finally crashed. The backup disk, in general, is only average.
