Well, first of all I didn't understand that it MUST be plugged in for the light to come on. The power cord is not very long, so it needs to be routed somewhere within 2-3 feet of the outlet. Second, the mirror stand is very short, so I had to set my mirror on something about 6 inches tall on my vanity, otherwise I was bending over to look at myself. The lighting is ok, my last mirror, which unfortunately broke in the suitcase, had brighter lighting and was 2 years old. A bit disappointed and should probably return.
