I like the big screen, the machine speaks clearly and usually names the streets correctly. It's also good at alerting you when you're approaching a school crossing, railroad crossing, or lowering the speed limit. It seems to work well as a GPS, but there are a few downsides: - Doesn't "learn". As a test, I used it to commute to and from work. Always the same route, about eight miles. The RV-890 always takes me across the interstate and through town, while the most direct route is through town via city streets. Although I always take this shorter route, the RV-890 doesn't seem able to learn my habits (like my previous Tom Tom GPS did). a few minutes. In many ways, it's more like a tablet computer than a GPS. When entering commands by touching the screen, you must be absolutely still and touch accurately. This is difficult with a moving vehicle. It is not possible to download different vehicle memes on the device. All vehicles provided are painted blue. Since my truck is red, I'll now use a simple red triangle as my "car" avatar. I haven't used it with a trailer in tow yet, so I can't comment on its usefulness in that regard.
