To make sure it's safe for your child, secure the batteries.
I purchased this as a gift for a 4 yr old. I put it together before gifting it & I was glad I did. It pretty much came together easily but the tail piece kept on coming out, so I put a little glue on it to secure it. Also, the battery compartment appeared to have a spot to place a screw to secure it shut but there was no screw. I luckily had one & made sure it was safely shut. This is a safety issue with small children & the company should make sure to supply a screw for the batteries to stay out of children's hands/mouth. But otherwise I loved the plane & most of all the child was thrilled with it.
