I bought sheets of parchment paper to protect my pastel paintings. The product has been highly recommended by some self-proclaimed pastel artists on YouTube. I found the parchment paper to be too dark, making it difficult to see through the paper to tell exactly what painting was underneath. I was disappointed (in my opinion) with the excessive thickness of the paper and its stiffness, especially when folded along the edges of the art. While I found the quality of the glassine paper to be good, and it protects by preventing smearing and warping of the pastel underneath, it's not quite what I was hoping for.
