A great way to scare cats off countertops!

Updated on 6/20. While this is a really great way to teach your cat to stay away from certain surfaces, it is VERY difficult to remove if left in place for an extended period of time. Some of them lay on a filing cabinet and a ceramic window sill for about 6 months. I was able to get it out of the filing cabinet fairly easily, but I had to use a lot of nail polish thinner to get the sticky residue off. On the windowsill, I found that the tape itself had deteriorated (probably due to sunlight) and continued to tear, making it even more difficult to remove. Lacquer thinner again to remove residue. In short, it does what it says, but beware of uninstall issues. Original post: I used this product to keep my cat from hitting the counters and placing strips along the top edges. Worked great. She jumped up, found her paws stuck to the tape, and immediately backed away. I tried again with the same result and voila! No more cats on the shelves! I left the tape in place for about a month, then removed it and it still stays in place! I've also used it on the headboard of the bed and on the tabletop with the same result. some clear plastic tape to keep the cat from scratching the furniture. The only downside is that they are very difficult to remove, even from a formica countertop. I found this to be a great product for holding mats in place!
