Just bought two of these. I've only done initial testing and set up tests - I have yet to use them in production so this is more of a preview/initial reaction post. As a solo operator who often needs to fly with gear, I'm always evolving the size and weight of my gear, and these Falcon Eyes are a bit of a game changer for me. If you see the attached photo of my setup you will better understand why. Now I can place a large controlled light source on such a small area on an object. Nano style Manfrotto stand easily supports panel extended for articulation with Matthews Mini Grip Kit (fantastic plastic). Ballast and transformer block seem to be enough to aggravate. I don't need another diffusion stand. I don't need sandbags inside. I'm a safety advocate, but this rig weighs next to nothing, and it's actually hard to tip over when most of the weight is down. If it tips over, it's like someone throwing a rolled-up pair of jeans at you. As others may have mentioned, the ballast and transformer box are quite large and heavy compared to the LED panel itself. But the compromise for me is fair as I can keep the weight down on my stand and use the smallest stands. I can use much smaller stingers which makes my load even lighter. Power is worldwide so you only need the appropriate physical adapter for the country you operate in. Occasions when I have to juggle at work. Right off the bat I know that I am taking a lot of weight off my existing enclosure by removing the large light stands that are currently there. I'm flying to a gig in the next few weeks so I'm hoping to update this review with some OJT experiences soon.
