I recently bought a 1993 Toyota Camry. I heard the engine running but the antenna didn't go all the way up. After watching a few YouTube videos, replacing the broken antenna didn't seem too difficult. From watching the video I knew there was some plastic left in the motor when the antenna was pulled out. Notice how the teeth look when you take out the old antenna. If you install a new one, the teeth should look the same. Also, fully extend the antenna when installing a new one. In this way when you turn off the radio the new antenna will be lowered. Don't worry if it doesn't go all the way down at first. Just turn the radio on and off several times. After you do that, everything will go down. The downside of the product is that it does not come with an installation guide.
