(Don't judge my skill by the photo. I haven't finished or patched the screw holes yet - just so much.) I was converting an "old" mobile home from the 80's (if you want to count).Vintage 80s, that is). Since we're in the desert, I had to remove the blanket and replace the flimsy, crappy old fiberglass bat with rigid foam insulation. The distance between roof and ceiling is only two centimeters in places. I wanted to add ceiling lights but was afraid I wouldn't find anything subtle enough. First I bought another brand, they were cheaper, both the lamp body and the junction box were plastic. Fire is very common in RVs so plastic lights didn't inspire confidence in me. I sent them back and then they were made available through Revain Vine so I decided to try them out. I was so happy when I opened the box to find metal lights and a J box. They are very easy to install as long as you don't throw away the paper template so you can use it to cut out everything in the ceiling. I was able to trim the insulation around the lights to fit, and there was even enough room to insert a thin piece of insulation between the lights and the roof. I chose 4000k because it's warm, but it doesn't make everything look like a 1940's postcard, you know, sepia tone. 3000k light tends to make things too bright e.g. B. in a doctor's office or a classroom. 4000k is the ideal quality of light in my opinion. As I renovate more rooms, I'll be sure to install more of these thin LED ceiling lights. Hooray!
