Use a hose clamp to secure the hose before leaving it permanently in your tank.
However, this is what it is. The hose needs to be connected to the nipple, it comes loose instantly, I checked based on all the other reviews it came loose in their tanks. These comments are noteworthy and should be taken into account. I put a hose clamp on it and it should be fine now, but I'll also put a longer hose on it to avoid drips from bad hose connections.
