I've been using Timbuk2 bags since their inception when it was still a local product here in San Francisco. I am very satisfied with this backpack: it is well made and seems to last a long time! After various medium-sized bags, whose styles and colors I still really like, it took me years to return to backpacking. But it's much better for my back! I was able to transport all my belongings in this backpack, which is larger on the narrow side but has several small zipped compartments for keys etc. and a large cell phone compartment accessible from the front. Inside there are a few compartments for, for example, a thin laptop (back) and some documents and a smaller one with a zipper. On the other side of the backpack, there is a solid large zipper on the side of the bag that allows you to take your laptop out without opening the top of the bag. As for the upper, I love that there are NO velcro straps - quite the opposite. st to messenger bags that got dirty over time. I can only recommend this backpack!
