This non-toxic marine lubricant from Nexus Green had a special use after reading that adding needle thrust bearings to a recumbent tricycle would make steering easier. The idea was to put a needle thrust bearing (30 x 20 x 2mm) on the bottom and another one on top. Like cycling, recumbent tricycles should be sustainable and have less impact on the environment. So when I saw an ad for Nexus Green lubricants I just couldn't help but try it! Apply a little to the needle thrust bearing fitted in the kingpin and add the washer. The kingpin itself was also lubricated with the Nexus Green and then the pin was inserted into the beveled housing. Added another thrust needle bearing on top, also added Nexus Green. Then it was just a matter of assembling it, which was very easy. There were no issues with this non-toxic, environmentally friendly Nexus Green Marine Lubricant. Did a 12 mile ride last night and was amazed at how the needle thrust bearing made such a difference and with a non toxic lube in it it seemed like the trike had hidden super powers! As for the project, Nexus Green did it. No regret. I'm glad I didn't mess with lithium grease or other alternatives. It's best to be eco-friendly first.
