Bought this for my 6 year old's birthday as my two little girls started playing basketball at school. She loved it and we played it for about 2 weeks straight. After that they ran out a bit and we used them maybe once a month. Shortly before the 1 year mark, their shield broke during one of their strikes. Again these are 5 and 7 year old girls so their injections are really not effective. Shortly after snapping, the fiberglass fell off the shield. It's just glued on. When I called the manufacturer they said it was under warranty and if I wanted a replacement it would be $120 plus shipping. You can buy yourself a new one for about that much. We garaged it when not in use so it was never exposed to extreme temperatures. Just a defective or cheap product. If I were you, I would give up this brand.
