I installed this light fixture over the kitchen sink at my mother-in-law's house to replace an old fluorescent light bulb. I was a little concerned that it wasn't bright enough when it arrived, but everyone loved it and we left it on its brightest setting. Installation only required 2 screws and a grommet, but since the old lamp was hardwired I had to install an outlet in the closet first. The lamp on the wall turns on, and the light turns on with a slight delay, but the settings remain in memory. I chose this light because it is adjustable and my wife hates all LEDs until the brightness and hue are adjusted. The app lets you adjust the brightness, but not the hue, but luckily she was happy with it anyway. First I had to install an app to get the light working. Once the light is set, the power and brightness can be adjusted using the knob on the lantern. Timers can be set with the app to turn the light on and off or adjust the brightness. I didn't need this feature, but I saw that it would be really cool if they covered a whole range of meters.
