Great car seat! Attention tips!

I really like almost everything about this car seat but as others have noted it reclines very easily which is my reason for the 4 stars. The handle can act as a sort of "stand" if you place it all the way behind the seat, but when lowering the seat we take extra care not to place it on a raised surface (chair, table, couch, etc.). At the doctor's appointment, I brought my baby with me, put the car seat on a chair for easier access (no need to bend down postpartum), and as soon as I pulled him out and moved, the seat immediately reclined. I understand the nature of the seat and did at the time, but I was still shocked at how "back heavy" it was. Obviously, tipping back with the child on the floor doesn't harm him, only startles him if at all, but there's real danger from any other surface. The positive aspects are the ease of installing the seat on the base and the weight of the car seat. After the birth I had no problem wearing it, while our Maxi Cosi from our first child seemed a lot chunkier. We have a Sienna and it fits nicely in the second row captain's seat, but we had a hard time balancing the base for a child under 7 pounds. Our baby was born at 36 weeks (and weighed 6 pounds) so was lighter than we anticipated and the car seat's tilt made it difficult to adjust the base for a small baby. It was an issue with the car, not the car seat, we just encountered an issue to be aware of. Within a few weeks she was up to 7 pounds and in fact we didn't realize before that her position at the base was an issue. I don't think this seat looks as sleek or modern as some of the other brands (Uppa or Nuna) but the safety features are great and before we settled on the Peg Perego we were told at the local baby store it was one car seat would act. which they will personally buy because the seat and base are reliable in terms of security. .Prior to purchasing the car seat we bought a team stroller at a bargain price and I wanted a car seat that would fit the stroller. The Peg Perego seats are the only ones that work as there are no adapters. So the stroller made the decision for us and we are happy with it!
