I need a case that will protect my iPad mini 5. Robust models without a flip screen do not fit. Flip screen models without a drop/drop test or protection will also not work. I also wanted the edge of the back panel to be slightly higher than the screen to protect it. I wanted a pen holder that would fit my Logitech colored pencil. Most (all?) cases with built-in pencil dots are slim and only fit an Apple Pencil or pencil-shaped stylus. This case has a tight elastic band that keeps both secure. I was afraid it would slip off. It's not like this. I am returning another case that slipped off when tilted. It has magnets that keep it in place. I also didn't want the cheap feel/looking faux leather. The texture of the case is comfortable in my hand. This case is exactly what I wanted. It replaces my Otterbox case for my old iPad Mini. I expect to be just as happy with it. Highly recommended.
