Much stronger than you might think considering how it's built. An adult can sit on it (it's sat up to 200 pounds, but I wouldn't bounce). My cat was in an accident. I could toss the pillow in the wash and wipe it down with a Lysol cloth and it was like new. (I won't give it back to that cat) The pillow filling will stick together when washed. I held it by the corners with the filling and turned it over so the rest of the filling could spread out. It's not perfect, but it works. Also, I don't use a dryer for this. This will likely complicate the breakup. It also looks great.
