Big Red Flag: Scanner

Doesn't work with Windows Server 2016 Wasted weeks getting Epson IT support and support to troubleshoot poor network performance. They don't support a modern version of it and it's too late to go back in a few months. Thanks for spending Epson $700!

Pros
  • Very Impressive
Cons
  • Security

lacks functionality

The scanner lacks even the most basic features one would expect from a scanner in this price range. For example, deleting blank pages does not work. Image processing is also error-prone, sometimes resulting in documents having to be scanned multiple times to get the right result. To add to my frustration with this device, I also found the scanner to be quite slow. I would not recommend that. Look elsewhere guys.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Upgradable

Very expensive scanner not worth the money.

I bought the scanner thinking it would be top notch for the price, but was disappointed to find that it didn't even lack the basic features of a high-end document scanner such as workflows and cloud storage. The software is very difficult to use. I spent half a day trying to get the scanner working and ended up refusing to return it for a refund.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works great on the web

Our employee had to stand at the copier all day scanning documents for electronic storage. This thing fixed everything, scans great and loves it. What I like. Easy setup. Ability to scan directly to a network folder. scanWhat do I not like? So far nothing unless it breaks, it was worth every penny.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not sure

LCD interface needs improvement

The scanner has an LCD interface so scan profiles can be quickly accessed at the touch of a button. The problem is that these profiles cannot be configured to control scan speed. For a slow scan, which I prefer most of the time, I have to select a profile, then go to the "Speed" tab, then select a slower speed, then go back to the "Original Profile" tab, then select "Scan". This defeats the purpose of the so-called one-touch scanning capability.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Sharpness

totally useless - scanner

I bought this to use during tax season. Yesterday was my first full day of client meetings and it was literally packed trying to scan documents at every meeting! Incredibly annoying. I called Epson today and they told me I had to use "slow mode" to scan multiple pages of different sizes. totally useless. Why did I spend over $700 for a fast scanner that can only be used in slow mode? This article goes back today. Don't buy this unless you plan on scanning documents that are exactly the same…

Pros
  • easy to read control panel
Cons
  • tape

I've searched long and hard after spending a lot of money on a different brand of scanner that didn't work well with my Mac. I have a paperless office and need a compact workhorse. I've had it for over six months and it has met all my needs. A solid business investment and a machine you can count on. The software isn't pretty, but it's versatile and meets all my needs. The range of resolution settings is fantastic and easily adjusted for daily or one-off needs. quality oozes; very good price…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Gotcha

Disable the firewall before installation; Works great with Windows 10

I love Epson products because they keep updating their software to keep up with OS changes. Many printer and scanner manufacturers seem to be moving away from the model you buy and letting you dry. The most important thing to do BEFORE installing (especially if you're using a 3rd party firewall - mine is AVG) is to disable it before starting the software installation. I didn't do this and AVG didn't show me any warning messages, it just prevented the scanner software from searching the internet

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Fair

Speed Demon is worth the price

I have had the predecessor to this scanner for many years and it has served me faithfully. I scan and shred ALL paperwork in my home office and these scanners just chug. The biggest problem is that they can scan faster than Adobe Acrobat can handle. Well worth the $650 price tag to catch up with this speed demon. Throw in a stack of papers, press the button and move away, but not too far. The only problem with this scanner is that if you are scanning a large batch and the paper is interfering…
