I have had the predecessor to this scanner for many years and it has served me faithfully. I scan and shred ALL paperwork in my home office and these scanners just chug. The biggest problem is that they can scan faster than Adobe Acrobat can handle. Well worth the $650 price tag to catch up with this speed demon. Throw in a stack of papers, press the button and move away, but not too far. The only problem with this scanner is that if you are scanning a large batch and the paper is interfering with the output of the scanned images (which can happen with folded or wrinkled paper), the scanner will detect the jam and stop. I have a habit of taking pages out of the paper tray about every 10 seconds (about every 10 seconds) to prevent this. And remember: 10 pages in about 10 seconds will be scanned on BOTH sides at once, so you're scanning 20 pages of content! It's the sports car of expensive scanners and worth it if you scan a lot or hate wasting time scanning.
