Review on 💺 ECLV B01 Hydraulic Mechanism Furniture by Jose Strong

Overall I'm happy with the elevators. It was a little tricky to install (at least for me, since I'm handy) and there are no installation instructions. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out what I needed and how to install it. I use them on a quilt chest that I use as a coffee table. It came with screws but I had black screws from another project which gave it a more finished look. What have I learned? 1. You will need to remove the screw holding the top of the hydraulic arm (thin end) to allow the arm to fall off and you can then lower the entire hinge to the closed position to mount to the inside of the chest. 2. Make sure the top of the hydraulic arm is bolted on when reinstalling, otherwise it will not line up and lock into place. 3. Use a spirit level and tape measure to ensure it is level and in the same position on both sides. 4. It took me a while to figure out how to attach the wood countertop once the hinges were installed inside. I ended up measuring the latch holes (with the hinges in the closed position), repositioning those 4 holes and using 4 screws to temporarily hold them in place. Then I drilled the remaining holes, installed the screws. As another reviewer mentioned, the top is a little beveled when opened with one hand, but when I use two hands it's not too bad, nothing slips off the top and it doesn't seem to stress the wooden table top itself. The weight of the tabletop keeps the hinges closed with ease. I ran into trouble because I couldn't find a hydraulic jack that would fit the width of my ceiling chest (like a stabilizer, so that was my only option). So overall I'm glad I have the option to use the hydraulic lift as it allows me to access the interior without having to remove everything from the top like I've done before and opens up a ton of storage space.
