Coming from Cuisinart that I'm tired of the rust on its hot plate. I love this Hamilton Beach. Good design. Front access is a great idea and works well. I'm not sure the 'extra' charcoal filter is big enough to do anything. how is it really Cuisinart isn't that big either, and you have to rotate it regularly to be effective. The carbon "filter" of it is even smaller. I won't bother, as an option. Hamilton Beach doesn't get the HOT idea? I have a spare and I'm hoping the first one is defective. The water temperature does not meet the recommended coffee brewing temperature of 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature is 160. It brews quickly, but since it doesn't heat the water to the right temperature, it's not surprising. Replacement here on Sunday. Just take a look. Could come back for a full refund. I really wanted to like this thing. Looks good, front design is well done. But looks and design are utterly useless if it doesn't make a good HOT cup of coffee! Edit: The new one arrived yesterday Sunday. Coffee this morning the same problem. These are not hot people. I'm sorry, but when the coffee gets warm, it's already cold by the time you've drunk half your cup. Come back. How challenging is this Hamilton Beach?
