At first I bought it a little worried about some of the one star reviews. But I decided to give it a try because it's cheap. The one star reviews state the following: Water gets into the pipes The stand makes A LOT of noise The stand does not rust and does not seal The stand is very difficult to assemble All the above points are wrong. First of all, it's insanely easy to assemble with a screwdriver and a rubber mallet. I was able to assemble this shelf myself in 30 minutes. The only reason it took 30 minutes is because I didn't read the instructions first and had to put rubber pads on. Which brings me to the fact that the people who said it wasn't tight must not have assembled it properly. . Rubber pads seal the parts of the rods that connect to each other to keep water out of the tubes. The screws come with rubber washers that also do the above. Now I also sealed the connections between the hoses with silicone because why not have some extra protection. Reception is noisy, but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Anyone who thinks that attaching a windproof roof rack doesn't make any noise has a lot more trouble with themselves than with this rack. People who say their trunk flew off literally didn't tighten the trunk properly. I installed the strut on my Subaru Crosstrek and hand tightened all the nuts. Came back the next day and then turned the nuts with channel locks after the bolt and nut threads loosened and loosened like all threads. After 1200 km of driving, with rain and snow in some places, the strut is still one with the car. I can grab it and literally try to move it and the car just moves instead. As for the water, I broke the silicon seals when I got home and took it apart to have a look and the insides are perfectly dry. There is no water at all, even in a moderate 80mph downpour. Another review mentioned that the bolts were so long they scratched the top of the car. If the screws above are scratched, insert the screws upside down first. Watch a YouTube video or read the instructions, the screws face up from your vehicle. However, they are long for the crossbars of my roof rack. But remember that this is a universal roof rack basket that also has to accommodate very thick crossbars. If length is an issue, just go to Home Depot and buy shorter screws for $2. Or grind the excess at an angle like I did. That being said, keep in mind that this rack costs less than $100. This will be the $100 booth. That doesn't mean it's junk, just don't compare it to a $400 Thule because it's not a $400 Thule. This is a very durable roof rack for less than $100. And it does everything you use it for as long as you don't try to overload it beyond its rated weight. In summary, for less than $100, this rack is amazing. It's strong, extremely light, super easy to assemble and with a little silicone and time very easy to seal up in bad weather. Remember the nuts are hand tightened, wait a day for the threads to settle and then Chanel will fix them. Buy this luggage rack and enjoy your MPG car while maintaining a large cargo space.
