This pot is a fine French press. It's off white, durable, easy to clean, pours well, made in China etc. I returned mine for the same reason I bought it. It doesn't keep your hot drink hot for long. I tested it on my regular press. Both preheated and full of 180 F hot water. The standard glass press dropped 35 degrees in the first hour, this one dropped 20 degrees. It's important, but it's not the weather, it's hot drinks. When I used it the next morning, I still had to warm up the second cup 45 minutes after the first. After 2 hours the 3rd cup is cold. So in my opinion it doesn't hold the heat any longer than a standard glass press. You also get about 3.5 standard household size coffee mugs per pot. It is spoken of a vacuum seal, it should refer to the space between inside and outside. Since the lid does not close and does not have a protrusion overlapping its upper part. Another thing I noticed when cleaning before returning is the lack of gaskets to prevent steam or beverages from entering the lid. So after a few uses, there are bound to be problems. It is rust free, no rust.
