I set up a tent and took it down with this hammer and it worked great. It is lighter than the one I previously packed. The handle is a bit longer so the force delivered to the stake seemed to be more than the heavier older hammer. My old hammer did not have the hook to pull up stakes. That hook worked great on the three different stake types I used. The longest stakes took some force to drive in and pull out. The strap made it really easy to pull it with one hand while the hammer was in the other hand and then stand up lifting with my knees. It made it really easy even on one that appeared to go through a root. I'm happy with it.
