I needed something to keep the extension cord from hanging around my desk, so when asked to test this product I happily agreed. There are 2 parts included, easy to attach to the table. Simply turn the wheel crank to tighten each clamp on your desk. The parts adjacent to your strip have a velvety finish so as not to damage your strip. I thought it was a very nice touch, although I wasn't worried about scratching the strip. It's a detail they didn't have to pay attention to at all, so the designer was very attentive. This keeps my strip in a fixed position where I can get my plugs and keeps it steady so I can plug things in easily. . That's cool. Cool idea that will make your extension more convenient. I had thick cords that caused the extension cord to not lay flat so it was always on its side and I had to dig it out to plug something in. It now lies at the back of my desk, nice and tidy, face up. that's the way it should be :D
