Beautiful kaleidoscope. You have to rotate the whole block to change the elements. Because they're floating in a viscous liquid, you can rotate your scope and watch the elements slowly float and settle. It's like watching a small kaleidoscope in slow motion. Once the elements have calmed down, you can simply rotate the device slightly and watch the movement again. In other words, you don't have to keep turning it. Just a small angle change will cause the elements to realign in liquid, and you'll see beautiful design changes for about 30 seconds without even rotating them. One star removed because the image shows a gold colored finish and I got a silver tone. I would prefer gold. The image of the butterfly around the visor is very grainy, but this does not affect functionality. The graininess is visible when the image is enlarged. In no way a violation of the terms of the contract. This scope is way better than a dry piece of plastic scope where you twist a ring to change shape. This one is filled with interesting items including what looks like dried flowers and the drawings it gives are very pretty. The volume is not round but elliptical. However, what can be seen inside is round. Overall a very good scope for the money. I recommend it.
