When the little pile of outdoor shoes in our garage got too ugly even for me, I knew something had to be done. This delicate bench not only brings order to chaos, but also offers us a place to sit when putting on shoes. Each shelf comfortably holds three pairs of medium-width adult shoes (total 6 pairs per bench). If your pedals are unusually wide, this number may decrease slightly. The bench itself is very strong and doesn't wobble at all, although admittedly I'm not of heroic stature. Aesthetically, the bench does not stand out and is not an eyesore. It's fairly presentable, although it will likely feel right at home in a garage, messy room, or hallway. Ours arrived in perfect condition with no scratches on the metal or damage to the foam board. If you're looking for an heirloom shoe rack to be the centerpiece of your furniture collection, this probably isn't for you. But if you want a neutral, durable and highly functional bench/shoe rack, you'll find it hard to beat for the price.
