Review on 💻 Cable Matters 4 Port USB 3.0 Switch Hub for 4 Computers and USB Peripherals - Button or Wireless Remote Control Swapping - USB-C Adapter Included by Jeff Wieczorek

I've mostly used this with a keyboard and mouse, but the USB 3.0 transfer speed seems fine for my devices. Switching takes a little over a second. Not as fast as some of the other KVMs I've used, but still pretty good. There the remote control switches at the same speed as the buttons on the block. I have not required external power for any of my devices, not even the 2.5" external hard drive I tested with. Initially I had a problem with a non-working remote control. I checked the voltage on the included CR2025 battery and it was over 3v. Swapped it out for a spare battery but still the same problem. I then contacted CableMatters support who replied: -------------- ----------------------- --- ----Thank you for contacting us. I'm sorry you caused us trouble. with your remote control! We have received similar reports from other customers. Our QA team did some research and determined that replacing the battery with a CR2032 instead of a CR2025 should fix the issue. Do you have CR2032 batteries that you use? Can you check if this helps? If not, we will be happy to send it to you. What is the best address for me to send it to? ----------------------- ----------------- Since the replacement with CR2032 the problem seems to have disappeared be. My guess is that the CR2025 is either too thin or not delivering enough power. Hopefully they will start deploying CR2032 but hopefully this review will help someone.
