A great alternative to KVM!

KVM switches are great when you use one monitor for multiple (4 in this case) computers to share USB devices. In my case and probably others as well, this USB3 switch is the perfect device I need in my scenario - 2 monitors and 4 computers to share USB devices. I am connecting this USB3 switch to 4 computers using a keyboard, mouse, card reader and a free USB port for connecting USB drives. Switching takes about a second after you press the button for each computer. Would definitely recommend…

I've wanted a device like this for a long time. I tried Switch 2.0 with remote control but it didn't work properly. This works perfectly and I no longer have to reach and press buttons. It switches as fast as I can imagine considering it takes computers a second to recognize the devices. Switches in about 3 seconds. Ideal for switching between work computer, laptop and desktop. I haven't tested the speeds as I only use it for peripherals and minimally for flash drives. I'll say I haven't…

Does not work with USB 3.x Gen 1 devices

This switch does not work with USB 3.x devices. It works like a USB 2.0 switch with no problems. These are the different configurations I've tested to get this working with Logitech Brio over USB 3.0: * USB3 device -> switch (powered and unpowered) -> USB3 PC port (Intel Z97, Asmedia, Lenovo laptop, Dell docking stations TB16) : All this resulted in USB cycling/reconnect* USB3 device -> USB3 hub with power supply -> Switch (powered and non-powered) -> USB3 port for PC (Intel Z97,

Looks solid but didn't work for me.

Pretty cool device, the remote control is very cool but it didn't work for me. In the beginning it was great, but after 10 minutes I had the first disconnection. Everything seems fine when idle, but as soon as I start pushing bandwidth through the device, it just shuts down. The connected device works fine, connected directly to my PC, but as soon as I put that switch back in, it starts to disconnect. If you look at the Event Viewer, it seems that the USB hub and device driver crashed. It…

Remote control problem seems solved, good USB 3.0 switch

I've mostly used this with a keyboard and mouse, but the USB 3.0 transfer speed seems fine for my devices. Switching takes a little over a second. Not as fast as some of the other KVMs I've used, but still pretty good. There the remote control switches at the same speed as the buttons on the block. I have not required external power for any of my devices, not even the 2.5" external hard drive I tested with. Initially I had a problem with a non-working remote control. I checked the voltage on…

Has issues with Logitech Brio otherwise good little product

I had high hopes but as other reviews have reported this device keeps disconnecting and reconnecting USB 3.0 devices like the Brio webcam, if the host device is a windows system. After I wrote my initial review, the Cable Matters support team contacted me and pre-shipped me a standalone USB-C power cord + 5W power adapter and custom USB 2.0 extension cable to solve my issue. I really appreciate this level of support! With the USB 2.0 extension cable, I no longer suffer from…

Works well on Mac, with some disconnects on Windows 10

Product generally does exactly what it says on the tin, seems to be in the higher quality spectrum than some of the less expensive alternatives. Please note that it's quite small (you can easily figure this out by looking at the pictures that it's about 7 USB-A ports wide). This may or may not be an issue depending on how many cables are run in and how angled they are (the unit is light enough to be easily hung in mid-air due to the strength of the attached cable). KVM switches tend to be…
